My Training
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and a graduate of the PGSP–Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, a program known for its rigorous academic training and emphasis on evidence-based care. There, I received instruction and mentorship from some of the leading clinicians and researchers in the country. My practice draws on specialized training and extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and comprehensive psychological assessment.
My Approach to Therapy
My clinical approach is focused, compassionate, and results-oriented. I work actively with clients to identify what’s holding them back, and to build the tools and insight needed to move forward with clarity and confidence. For individuals, I use CBT to help shift unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. For couples, I use EFT to deepen emotional connection, improve communication, and restore trust. Whether I’m working with a client facing anxiety, burnout, or relationship conflict, my aim is always the same: to help you reconnect with your strength, values, and capacity for meaningful change.
My Professional Background
Before becoming a psychologist, I served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Leading diverse teams in high-stress environments taught me how to connect across differences—with people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and personalities. That experience continues to shape my work today. I bring a grounded, nonjudgmental presence to therapy, and I take seriously the responsibility of earning each client’s trust. My passion—both then and now—is helping individuals become the strongest, most authentic version of themselves.
Hi! My name is Tia Stevens and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have a MA in Marital and Family therapy from Alliant International University. My areas of focus are couples therapy, whether that is premarital, marriage, welcoming a new baby, separation or just communication issues. I also work with individuals who may be experiencing anxiety or any postpartum mood disorder.
I am a licensed therapist with extensive experience working with first responders and their families. I understand the unique stressors that accompany careers in emergency services, including exposure to trauma, high-stakes decision-making, shift work, and the impact these demands can have on personal relationships and overall well-being.
My hope is to be able to help others navigate life's obstacles with an authentic and nonjudgmental approach.
I specialized in Trauma while earning my degree and have helped many individuals, couples, and families work through and overcome the aftermath of traumatic events. I also have several years of experience helping people struggling with anxiety and depression.
One of the most important aspects of the therapeutic healing process is the connection between the client and therapist, so I encourage authentic communication if you do not feel we are a good fit as it can be an example of advocating for yourself in a powerful way.
Hi! I am a board certified DNP-PMHNP-BC. I started my career in traditional health practices as a Fulbright Scholar in Sochi, Russia. I presented my research at the US Embassy in Moscow. Following the completion of my grant I attended New York University (NYU). From there I completed a residency at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Following this I entered and completed my doctorate at USD University of San Diego, California with a focus on digital telehealth treatment for psychiatric care. I have a passion for working with the veteran population and those seeking care outside the box. I recently completed my facilitation for psychadelic assisted therapy and have an additional practice in Denver, Colorado. I enjoy yoga, swimming and all the water sports!
I am an authentic, goal-oriented, passionate therapist that can help you gain life skills, become more present, and build the life you want. I provide care for people experiencing a lot of pressure, emotions that feel out of control, and who are feeling stressed in life.
What makes me different: I have a lot of compassion and accept my clients just as they are, without judgment.
