I’m a Licensed Therapist working with clients in California / Florida. Along with my clinical training, I bring lived experience that helps me meet my clients where they're at. Outside of work I enjoy sports, cooking and trying new food, staying active, and getting outdoors—especially hiking—I do my best to live a full life while making sure I have some time to slow down and take it easy.
I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles and love this work. I came to therapy through an unconventional path — nearly a decade in film and photography, work as a youth counselor, and service in the military — all of which deeply shaped how I understand people and their stories.
I earned my master's degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I focused on psychodynamic and depth-oriented approaches. My thesis centered on ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, a specialty I've continued developing through advanced trainings I've completed.
I work with individuals, couples, adolescents & families across a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular love for working with creative professionals, veterans and young adults. I'm LGBTQ+ affirmative and love working with folks from the queer community.
My practice spans traditional talk therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) — including psychedelic integration support for those processing experiences outside of our work together. I see clients in person in Atwater Village in Northeast LA, and virtually throughout California.
I’m Kel Mathews, an LMFT with 11 years of experience helping individuals, families, and groups navigate life's challenges. I specialize in trauma, minority stress, crisis intervention, and working with diverse populations, including at-risk youth and the LGBTQ community. I’m currently pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology, deepening my expertise in systemic issues and mental health. My warm, affirming approach empowers clients to find strength and healing.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and long-term psychotherapy. I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and the lasting impact of trauma.
My professional background includes service in military and veteran-support settings, as well as work in community mental health, medical and hospital-based environments, and outpatient therapy. This breadth of experience allows me to support clients across a wide range of life circumstances—from acute stress and major transitions to deeper, long-term personal growth.
My practice is grounded in a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach that integrates evidence-based and relational therapies. I believe therapy works best when clients feel supported, understood, and appropriately challenged, with the goal of not just symptom relief, but meaningful, lasting change in how clients relate to themselves and others.
Hi, I’m Danielle Roxborough, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and founder of Love is a Verb Counseling. I work with couples and individuals through a trauma-informed, relational lens because I believe relationships are where we experience both our deepest wounds and our greatest healing. My work integrates the Gottman Method, attachment-based therapy, EFT and DBT skills, and I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals and partnerships. I’m also a certified Fair Play Method facilitator, helping couples build more balanced, collaborative partnerships at home.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist living and practicing in Southern California. I decided to make a career change in my early 30's and pursued both my master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. My education and training largely focused on multicultural and community psychology, and my dissertation focused on parenting gender diverse children. I specialize in LGBTQIA+-affirmative therapy, parenting support, and psychological assessment. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, self-harm, suicidality, chronic illness, ADHD, relationship challenges, and grief.
